Brief History of Wax Box FireLog Corporation

Wax Box FireLog Corporation (“WBFC”) was incorporated in California on October 11, 2001.

WBFC was established in response to consumer demand for heating products and to take advantage of a newly patented recycling process. The purpose of the business is to produce superior fire logs and fire starter products from recycled wax-coated cardboard. HotLogs are SUPERIOR products that provide consumers with better flame optics and more real heat than comparable products on the market–all at a lower retail price.

In the summer of 2001, WBFC acquired the exclusive production and sales rights for all of Northern California to utilize patented log and fire starter production equipment from Futura Thermal Systems, Inc. (Futura) of Redding, California with an exclusive licensing agreement. At the same time, the company acquired a favorable lease on a 52,000 square foot facility located at 255 Sikorsky Avenue, Chico, California (the Chico Municipal Airport). Initially logs were produced on a prototype machine developed by Futura for trial production and trial marketing purposes. Within months, demand for the product from retail stores, local independent supermarkets and others soared and the prototype machine was running at its full capacity in order to keep up with the preliminary demand. In January 2002, WBFC took delivery of the first commercial production machine from Futura and has added conveyor feed systems to bring the machinery into full production.
